  • Letter From Mrs. Follansbee
Dear Parents,

I am honored to be your child's second grade teacher.  I am moving down to Harold Martin School after teaching at Maple Street for 11 years.  In total, I have taught for 17 years.  My undergraduate and graduate work through UNH in Durham focused on early childhood education, so I feel as though I'm coming back to my roots!  This year is a challenge I am wholeheartedly embracing.

I live in Hopkinton with my husband (Lloyd), two daughters (Maddy and Cassidy), and Golden Retriever (Brandy).  We have lived here for five years.  I love teaching in the community where I live.  I feel very connected to Hopkinton.  I love to read and I enjoy music.  I know the lyrics to most songs from the 1980's era!  I also love technology and look forward to incorporating it into the curriculum in as many ways as I can in the fall.

I will keep this page current with all of the information you may need as a parent of a child in my classroom.  It is my hope to include as much student work as possible.  My goal is for your child's day to be as transparent as possible so that when he/she comes home and answers the "What did you do in school today?" question with the typical, "Nothing", you have a place to find out what actually went on during the day.

Please feel free at any time to email me with questions or suggestions for the page.  My email address can be found by clicking on the "Contact Me" tab above.

I look forward to meeting and talking with each of you in the fall, if not sooner.

Sincerely,

Joan Follansbee
